Holiday Must Haves

We are going on holidays next week. Sun, sand, relaxing - I can not wait! I hope you have a holiday to look forward to before bub arrives.
My husband and I took a trip away when I was 6 months pregnant. It is a wonderful thing to do before the baby comes along.
So this has got me to thinking - what are my holiday clothing "must haves"? (pregnant or not!)

First of all - a sundress - that is cool, comfortable and can be worn day or night. The Allegra Maternity Dress (pictured right) in 100% cotton is perfect.

Wear it with a hat and sandals for day time chic or dress it up with espradrills and an updo for evening.
The next must have item is a pair of capri pants. I like the Amelia Linen Maternity Pants (pictured left). These pants are cool and comfortable and look fabulous too. Available in classic black or mocha as shown.
These pants will go back with most tops from singlets and camis to more dressy maternity tops.

Another capri pant option is the Ripe Maternity Poplin Capri Pants (available in white, latte and black), or the stretchy and popular Velcro Maternity Capri Pants (available in black, taupe, chocolate and white).

Thirdly, a comfortable, versatile top that can be worn to the beach, shopping, or dressed up for the evening. My favourites include the Kara Maternity Cami (pictured right) in white and the Bamboo Body Soft Maternity Cami in black or cinnamon. Wear casually during the day and dress up with accessories or a sheer silk wrap such as the Silvia Maternity Shirt for evening.

Last, and most importantly, a great swimsuit that will keep you feeling confident when it is time to strip down for a swim.

The Geometric Maternity Tankini has been designed specifically to flatter pregnant bumps. Supportive in all the right places, this tankini has a sweetheart neckline and an eyecatching print to bring the eye upwards away from any problem areas... The Geometric Tankini has adjustable pants to ensure the perfect fit from 0-9 months.
Make sure you remember your hat and sunscreen because your skin can be extra sensitive when pregnant.

Corporate maternity wear

Here are a few tips to make the most of your corporate maternity wardrobe.
1. Invest in key wardrobe basics that can be mixed, matched, dressed up or dressed down
2. Make sure the clothes are good quality, fit you well, and will last from 0-9 months. These clothes will be worn a lot over the term of your pregnancy
3. Choose colours that will work well together
4. Change your look from day to day with accessories

We have picked out our favourite items to mix and match.

Maternity work item number 1 - a pair of black maternity pants. We love the Soon Maternity Dress Pants (pictured right), the Ripe Maternity Tabor Pants and the Pea In a Pod Velcro Maternity pants.

Maternity work item number 2 - a tailored shirt that you can adjust to fit you from 0-9 months. We love the Seraphine Sleeveless Wrap Maternity Shirt available in pink or white (pictured right). This maternity shirt is crisp, professional and well fitting. A great option for the warmer months, it can easily be worn under an unbuttoned tailored jacket. Wear it with pants or a skirt.

If you prefer a long sleeve version try the Rita Empire Maternity Shirt - available in white. A short sleeve option is the Paris Maternity Shirt - also available in white.

Maternity work item number 3 - a skirt that will match back with all your tops such as the Charlene corporate maternity skirt (pictured right).

The linen cotton blend Charlene corporate skirt has a delicate mocha and cream pinstripe that will coordinate with almost any colour shirt.

The skirt has a comfortable soft waistband - no digging in to your belly when you sit at your desk.

If you prefer a black or white tailored skirt try the Szabo Flare Maternity Skirt.

For a soft comfortable option that still looks stylish and elegant try the Bamboo Body Essntial Maternity Skirt available in black or berry.

Maternity work item number 4 - A classic, stretchy block colour top. Our favourite is the Cross Front maternity top by Bamboo Body (pictured right), available in black or cinnamon.

Crossing at the bust and extra long to cover your bump, the Cross Front top not only looks good, it feels wonderful on.
This top can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the accessories you add. Looks stylish teamed with black pants or a skirt and can easily be worn under your work jacket.
Wear with white capri pants, denim or shorts on the weekend.
Other simple, stretchy tops appropriate for work include:
* The Ripe Pintuck maternity top available in white.
* The Euro Kimono maternity top in chocolate cocoons the belly in ruching and has gorgeous drapey sleeves.
* The Belly Basics collar maternity tee has a simple, functional design and is available in white, black, red and purple.

Maternity work item number 5 - a jersey wrap dress such as the Madeline Maternity Wrap Dress by Soon Melbourne. Great for summer, this dress is quite conservative - it doesn't show too much flesh but it does show off those gorgeous curves.

Looks great with black shoes and black brief case - add your favourite necklace.

Can be worn with or without a jacket.

The Madeline dress can also be worn with strappy heels and sparkling jewellery for a gorgeous wedding or special occasion outfit.
Also suitable for work and special occasions is the elegant China Doll Maternity dress and the Szabo Retro Maternity Dress available in red or champagne.
All of these pieces are high quality, well cut and will fit you from 0-9 months. They can be mixed, matched and transformed with the addition of accessories.

Celebrity Pregnancy Style - Nicole Richie

Pregnant Nicole Richie looks more beautiful than ever. She has lovely new curves and a healthy glow. Nicole certainly knows how to dress her bump in style. Here are a few of our favourites....

Pictured right Nicole is wearing a pale pink slip dress. The dress is so simple and drapes elegantly over her belly. She makes her outfit look stylish by accessorising with her signature oversized sunglasses and a black leather tote.

The key to making the most of your maternity wardrobe is to invest in simple classic pieces that can be transformed by the accessories you add. The Madeline Wrap Maternity Dress (pictured left) is in a similar shade to Nicole's dress.

Add sunglasses, handbag and thongs for stylish but casual day time chic. Add a necklace or scarf, closed toe heels and a smart jacked and you have a fabulous work outfit. Add strappy heels, sparkling earrings for a glam night out.

The Madeline maternity dress is made from soft cotton jersey - it is stretchy and comfortable. The wrap style means you will be able to wear from 0-9 months and afterwards.

Pictured right, Nicole wears a maxi dress with style. A strapless design, this dress is fitted at the bust and then falls and floats from the empire line. This dress not only looks great it would be extremely comfortable. The bright coloured pattern completes the look.

At GlowMama, the Belladonna maternity dress has defintely been a favourite with our instore customers. As soon as we get new stock in it flies off the racks. The Belladonna dress is a more dressy and more subtle version of Nicole's look. With inbuilt bust support you will feel supported even without a bra. The Belladonna dress is a sophisticated option for weddings and evening events.

We are sure to be featuring Nicole again in the GlowMama blogspot.
